Bay Stevedores

Bay Stevedores in the port of Richards Bay, was established in 1993 and specialises in the pay loading and separation of bulk cargo – a pay loader (“Reach Machine”) is lowered into the hold of the vessel pushing cargo into position. Once the cargo is loaded and payloaded, a welded wall of steel metal plates is put in place which separates it from the next cargo to be loaded. Bay Stevedores complements existing terminal operations in Richards Bay, and extends the service offering to customers in the bulk cargo handling market. The business provides services to Grindrod affiliated companies as well as third parties.
