Grindrod Logistics provides transport services to the Petrochemical, Molasses and Vegetable Oil Industries with its fleet of specialized tankers.
The Molasses and Vegetable Oil tankers (28 in total) are based in Cape Town, Durban and Piet Retief, and are operated by our Tank Terminals division – who have been providing bulk storage and transit services for over 80 years.
The liquid bulk division provides primary and secondary distribution services to various oil majors in the Southern African region
Grindrod first entered the Petrochemical industry in 2008 with the acquisition of WM Translogistics and in 2010 concluded the acquisition of Fuelogic, a bulk liquid transporter operating in Southern Africa. The fleet has expanded to 295 specialized road tankers, operating in the livery of Grindrod and/or Fuelogic, and where required in the livery of our contract clients.
The Services are offered from a well distributed network of depots and include:
- Primary distribution of fuel from refineries and import facilities to terminals,
depots and large customers, in South Africa and from South Africa and
Mozambique to Neigbouring countries.
- Secondary distribution of fuel from terminals and depots to customers
- Transportation of liquid petroleum gas
- Development of software for the oil industry
- Optimization studies for, and with customers
- Runnig of depots on behalf of oil companies
